RUX Duffel Box Challenge MultiCam

The wide-mouth duffel, built for harder use.

The Duffel Box MultiCam opens across the full length of the bag, so your gear stays visible and easy to reach. No digging, no long zipper to fail. Box Mode keeps access quick. Burrito Mode rolls down for a tighter travel profile.

55L: Two to four days of kit. Carry-on capable in Burrito Mode.
75L: Longer trips, bulkier gear, or shared loads.

Built from Challenge EPLX600 MultiCam Black, a laminated fabric designed to resist stretch, distortion, and abrasion under load. Inside, the same RUX-compatible rails keep pockets, panels, and bags moving across the system.

Weatherproof, not submersible. Backed by the RUX Lifetime Guarantee.

WIDE-MOUTH PACKING

Everything visible. Nothing hidden.

The opening runs the full length of the bag, so your whole loadout is right in front of you. No digging to the bottom. No unpacking half the bag to find one thing. No repacking after.

It is the same wide-mouth thinking behind the RUX Gear Box, built into something soft enough to carry.

SEGMENTED ROLL-TOP

No zippers, on purpose.

Most expedition duffels use a long zipper for wide access. That zipper is often the first thing to fail and the first place weather gets in. The Duffel Box uses a patent-pending segmented roll-top instead, with no moving parts to jam, split, or grind grit into.

Close it over the top in Box Mode for quick access throughout the day, or roll it down the sides and buckle it low in Burrito Mode for travel and a more compact load.

CHALLENGE EPLX600

A laminate, not a coating.

Most technical fabrics rely on a woven face with a coating on the back. EPLX600 is built differently. A 600-denier high-tenacity polyester face in official MultiCam is laminated to CrossPly yarns set at 45 degrees, then backed with a 0.5 mm RUV film.

That bias grid helps the fabric resist diagonal stretch and distortion under load, so the bag holds its shape when the weight goes up and the miles add up.

Inside, a TX50 triple ripstop liner adds its own CrossPly grid using Ultra UHMWPE yarn. Weatherproof, not submersible.

PLAYS WELL WITH

Built to work across the RUX system.

The rails inside are the same across the system, so pockets, panels, and bags move between Gear Boxes, Totes, and Duffel Boxes. Something you bought years ago can still fit what you buy today. The second thing you buy makes the first one better.

WHICH ONE?

Pick by the trip, not by the number.

Choose the Duffel Box 55L for two to four days of kit and carry-on capable travel in Burrito Mode. Or run with the Duffel Box 75L for longer trips, bulkier gear, or one load shared between two people.

WEEKEND AWAY

55L keeps the load tight.

For a few days on the road, at the trailhead, or heading into a short trip, the 55L gives you enough room for the essentials without carrying more bag than you need. Same MultiCam build, just in the more compact format.

FLYING WITH IT

Built to travel smaller.

Roll the 55L down into Burrito Mode and the bag compresses around the load for a tighter travel profile. It is carry-on capable, but airline limits vary, so check your carrier before you count on it.

LONGER TRIPS

75L when the gear gets bigger.

For longer trips, bulkier equipment, or one load shared between two people, the 75L gives you the extra room without changing how the bag works. Same wide-mouth access, same segmented roll-top, more capacity for heavier loadouts.

HARDER USE

This is where MultiCam earns its place.

If the trip means more abrasion, heavier loads, or years of harder use, the MultiCam build is the one designed for it. The architecture stays the same. The material is what changes.

PACK IT YOUR WAY

Build the inside around the trip.

Use Bags to divide the main compartment, Panels to add structure, Pockets to keep small gear close, and Waterproof Packing Bags to separate wet or dirty kit. The system gives you a starting point, but the layout is yours.

CARRY + CLOSURE

Two ways to close it. Three ways to carry it.

The Duffel Box changes with the load. Keep it open and accessible when you are in and out of it all day, roll it down when you need a tighter travel profile, carry it by hand or over the shoulder, or strap it down when the bag is along for the ride.

BOX MODE

Fast access when the bag stays active.

Roll the top over and close it above the load when you are reaching in and out throughout the day. Box Mode keeps the wide-mouth opening easy to access without fully compressing the bag between stops.

BURRITO MODE

Roll it down and lock it in.

Roll the top down the sides and buckle it low when you want the bag tighter and more compact. Burrito Mode compresses around the load for travel, smaller loads, and a cleaner profile when space matters.

HAND CARRY

Grab it and go.

Two short nylon webbing handles keep hand carry simple for quick moves between the house, vehicle, terminal, or trailhead.

SHOULDER CARRY

Hands free when you need them.

The padded removable shoulder strap gives you another way to move the load when your hands are already full or the walk gets longer.

LASH IT DOWN

Not every trip needs a handle.

Hypalon lash points run all the way around the bag, giving you multiple ways to secure it to a rack, raft, sled, truck bed, or wherever the load needs to stay put.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered.

No. It is weatherproof, not submersible. It is built for rain, dust, road spray, wet tailgates, and normal travel conditions.

The 55L is carry-on capable in Burrito Mode, where the bag rolls down around the load for a tighter travel profile. Airline size limits vary, so always check with your carrier before you travel.

Box Mode closes the segmented roll-top over the top of the bag for quick access throughout the day. Burrito Mode rolls the top down the sides and buckles it low for a tighter, more compact load.

The architecture is the same. Same wide-mouth opening, same segmented roll-top, same internal rails, same carry options. The difference is the material. MultiCam uses Challenge EPLX600, a laminated fabric built to resist stretch, distortion, and abrasion under load.

Yes. The soft rails inside are designed to work across the RUX system, so compatible Bags, Pockets, Organizer Panels, and Packing Cubes can move between Gear Boxes, Totes, and Duffel Boxes.

They share the same wide-mouth approach, but they do different jobs. Gear Boxes are rigid and stackable for gear that lives packed at home or in the rig. Duffel Boxes are soft and built to carry, so they take that same organization on the road.

The Duffel Box is backed by the RUX Lifetime Guarantee. If a replaceable part fails, contact us and we will help get it sorted. Buckles, straps, snaps, and other serviceable parts can be replaced so the bag stays in use.

REAL-WORLD PROOF

What owners have to say.

The best test is what happens after the first trip. Read what RUX owners have to say about how the Duffel Box packs, carries, and holds up over time.

BACKED FOR LIFE

Buy once. Then keep it.

The lifetime guarantee is a design constraint. We build out failure points, make serviceable parts replaceable, and keep your bag in use for as long as possible. The most sustainable gear is the gear you keep using.

WHY RUX

Less friction. More of what you want to do.

A full life comes with a lot of gear. The right system gives it a place, keeps it ready, and removes the friction between deciding to go and actually going.

That is why we build one system instead of a shelf of separate products.

PACK SMARTER

A better system starts before the bag.

Pack by access. Keep the things you need first near the top, group the gear that travels together, and load the bag the night before. Less digging. Less repacking. More time getting where you are going.
